Sponge Balls

During the big heat wave, we thought of all sorts of activities to keep us cool. A great activity was making sponge balls, and then having a water fight with them.

It's a relatively simple activity, especially if you have a bunch of extra sponges lying around. You cut the sponges into strips, tie a string of some form around the middle super tight. And ta-da! Sponge Ball!

We had a great time throwing these around the yard. We made up all sorts of games with them, including trying to throw them through hoops, over the picnic shelter, etc. All in all, a good way to spend a hot morning.
